Last year, I did a photo shoot for the AP about strawberry workers. Some time later, I was contacted by a painter from the Central Coast. Claire O. Harkins wrote that she saw my article and photos in the Monterey County Herald and asked whether she could use one of the photos as inspiration for an oil painting. I agreed and waited to see the results of her work. Many of Claire’s impressionist paintings depict California’s landscapes and architecture. You can find her artwork at http://clairesart.com/. Recently Claire sent me a photo of the painting she did based on my photograph. She called it Bug’s Eye View. The painting was exhibited in an art gallery.
