AP STORY: New law to stop intimidation of farmworkers

This weekend, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a last minute flurry of bills. One of them was a compromise between California’s farmworker union, the UFW, and the state’s agricultural interests. It’s an amendment to the state’s signature Agricultural Labor Relations Act, which gave farmworkers the right to unionize, and it’s meant to protect workers from an employer’s intimidation and threats during a secret ballot election.
